What Treasures the Garage Sales Hold

I got a garage sale clock.
But I didn't need another clock and I wasn't sure what to do with it, but I really liked the almost Steampunk feel of the case. So I decided I would take the clock part out and....

Well, I'm not sure entirely, but I think it might eventually have something to do with this garage sale cricket.

Also I found this really neat (but also a little bit creepy) donkey.
He only has one ear and his mane is a little tattered.
But I'm hoping someone out there will want to take ownership and responsibility for fixing him up.
Because, really, he's freaking me out. (I had to lock him in the sewing room to sleep last night.)
I'm sure he'll be happy for you though. Oh, wait. That one is sort of creepy too. Anyway....

I'm not going to suggest what you might do to those creepy, creepy teeth while he's still in the house with me, but think about it.

I'll mail him to you.

Or your worst enemy, if you'd prefer.

Just send me an address.

  1. No. Freaking. Way. I could feel that thing coming for me through the computer screen. I'd say put it on the curb for free, but that might make it angry.

  2. Yeah, when I picked him up I was looking at the neat way he's put together to be able to move, but he got tossed onto my nightstand when Husband cleaned off the table (I think) and I woke up in the middle of the night, unable to sleep, to find him looking at me. He's definitely got to go.

  3. I would like a hand at trying to fix him! He would be cute with a new paint job and ears.

  4. Aw, man.

He freaked me out too much to keep him this long. I sent him to Goodwill two weeks ago.

    Sorry.

  6. I'm in Florida -- in a college town -- so we have a mix of retired people, traveling professors, and students from everywhere. I go garage saling mostly for the oddities.

Though that comes with its own problems. We had a massive garage sale ourselves this last weekend to deal with fifteen years of collected oddities because I decided our house was too full of dust collectors. (I kept one of my latest finds -- an autograph book from the 1890s that I need to take pictures of and share with you all.)
