No-Kill Roses. So they say.

I have some No-Kill Roses a friend bought me at a Georgia plant sale. Two out of three have lived up to their names. So far.

Now, they bloom.

But something has already eaten all my peaches. I think I need to figure out how to net my tangerine tree so I can have some fruit from it. Or how to kill all squirrels. Maybe, birds too. If only I could figure out the real culprit.

I am currently hating wild animals. Evil fruit stealers, giving me long enough to get excited about growing something edible before taking it all away.

Also, Little Girl did a report of Joan of Arc. Here, she poses next to Ameila Earhart before she completely froze up on stage and for once in her life, forgot how to speak. (For those who don't know her, my little girl speaks a lot. Really. She almost never stops. For those who do know her -- apparently the best way to get a few minutes of silence is to put her on a stage with a prepared report.)

  1. Amelia and Joan would be a cool conversation to write. Love the pic.

  2. Adorable picture! You should hear about the culprit who keeps digging underneath our compost box and the multiple culprits who keep digging holes in our yard and our garden. Thankfully no plants have disappeared, YET. The first culprit is a raccoon (I caught him digging one day)and the other holes are squirrels I think. I too am currently hating wild animals. Oh yes, and then there is the stray cat who likes to use my yard as his personal litter box. I knew there was a reason I don't like cats as my pet. If only there was some way to discourage them all from even entering my back yard, and still be safe for children to play...
